Lending Hand is an in-home service provider that assists individuals and families. We are dedicated to helping our clients lead dignified, independent lifestyles in the comfort and safety of their own homes by carefully assessing and fully understanding their needs and selectively placing trained personnel to meet these needs.
Personal Support Worker
Our personal support workers provide care and assistance to those in need within the community. They provide any assistance that is required to help someone live independently in their own home. In addition to this they provide additional care to those in need within retirement homes, nursing homes and those within the hospital. Some of these care needs involve assistance with morning and evening routines such as bathing, dressing, and toileting, they assist with light home care, meals and feeds, respite work and palliative care, observational care, plant or pet care and most often the most important part to their care is companionship with our elderly.
Development Service Worker
Providing assistance and support to children, adolescents and adults with a developmental and/or physical disability. Assisting these individuals to develop skills and independence, along with community integration through daily activities and regular day to day tasks.
Nursing (RPN and RN)
Our nurses have many different job opportunities within the company. Our nurses take care of individuals of all ages within the community. In their main role they will be: Preparing and administering medications and treatments, monitoring vital signs and client status through head to toe assessments, using clinical judgement to help facilitate optimal outcomes in a change of situation, proper communication and documentation and dealing with additional therapies involving dressing changes and wound care, intravenous medication therapy and palliative care.
Each nurse within our agency has the opportunity to become a footcare nurse in addition to their home care role. Our nurses go around to individual’s homes, retirement homes and nursing homes to provide footcare. Our footcare nurses both monitor and deliver footcare within client’s homes. Through training they provide within their services: Callus and corn removal, nail trimming and filing, soaking of the feet and skin care. In addition to this they deal with the wound care involving the feet.
Our physiotherapist work within an agreed upon care plan to assist our clients with any needs they may have. This could mean mobility issues, strength and reconditioning post procedure or hospital discharge, assistance towards strengthening movements to help with ADLs, stretching and post injury rehabilitation. Our physiotherapists work with clients within their own homes as we understand that it is sometimes impossible to get into a clinic for this important care.
